WELCOME TO MY EDGE PROJECT

About My Project

    My project involves shadowing several accountants in different areas of expertise within the accounting profession. I intend to shadow an accountant that works in government, one that works in book keeping, a tax accountant, and a Certified Public Accountant. I will spend a minimum of 10 hours with each accountant to learn what their job entails and what their work environment is like. Through this I can determine which sub-fields of accounting appeal to me the most and which areas may not be a good fit. This will help me have realistic ideas of what future employment may look like. I will also establish a network of peers and employers that may be able to guide or assist me on my journey to becoming an accountant. At the completion of this project I will also have a greater knowledge of accounting in general and in a practical setting which will help me connect my book learning to real life.
